My Story

I’ve always been driven by one core desire: freedom. Growing up in Anderson, South Carolina, life threw every curveball imaginable—foster homes, custody battles, and a family that never quite fit together. From an early age, I knew I was different. I didn’t want to just survive; I wanted to break free from every limitation that tried to define me.

My first taste of freedom came as a high school DJ. Behind the turntables, I felt alive, in control, and driven by the thrill of doing something that was truly mine. But life has a way of pushing back. I played the game for a while—working as an electrical engineer, climbing the corporate ladder, and doing what was expected. But the 9-to-5 grind felt more like a cage than a path to success. I wasn’t just looking for a paycheck; I was searching for a life where I could call the shots.

In 2010, I took a leap into the unknown. I left behind the stability of my engineering career to launch South Carolina's first craft distillery. It wasn’t just a business—it was my declaration of independence. I dived headfirst into learning everything from scratch—building a brand, mastering whiskey-making, and navigating the hurdles of legislation. Each day was a new challenge, but it was also another step toward living life on my own terms.

By 2014, the distillery was thriving, but new challenges arose. Scaling the business and managing investor expectations brought a new level of complexity—streamlining operations, optimizing processes, and keeping profitability at the forefront. I could have played it safe, but that's not who I am. Instead, I decided to push the boundaries even further, teaming up with a private equity firm to expand our operations. Then came another unexpected twist—COVID-19 hit, and our business took a massive blow. Many would have seen it as the end. I saw it as another chance to innovate and adapt.

We pivoted quickly, transforming the distillery into a sanitizer production facility, keeping our team employed and meeting a critical need. It was a crash course in rapid adaptation, operational efficiency, and making tough calls that would ultimately save the business. But amidst this chaos, I had an epiphany. I realized that while I was achieving great things professionally, I was losing sight of the freedom and balance I had always sought. I needed to find a way to succeed without sacrificing what mattered most.

That's when I created my own proven system—a straightforward framework designed to help high-achievers like me build a business that’s both profitable and exit-ready, without burning out. Drawing from my own journey, I built a system that dives deep into optimizing operations, maximizing profit, and preparing businesses for sustainable growth or a strategic exit. It’s not about choosing between ambition and balance; it’s about having both. Today, I’m living proof that it’s possible. I’m in the best shape of my life, mentally, physically, and emotionally, living a life that aligns with my values of freedom and fulfillment.
